SEMH Support Assistant - Canterbury

We are currently recruiting for a dedicated SEMH Support Assistant to join a specialist SEMH school in Canterbury. This is a rewarding opportunity to work closely with pupils who require additional emotional and behavioural support to thrive both socially and academically.
The Role: SEMH Support Assistant
As an SEMH Support Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting students who may display challenging behaviour. You will work both 1:1 and in small groups, helping pupils to regulate emotions, build positive relationships, and engage with their learning.
Key Responsibilities:
Supporting students with SEMH needs and challenging behaviour
Assisting with the delivery of lessons and adapting support where needed
Promoting positive behaviour strategies and emotional regulation
Encouraging social development and building students' confidence
Providing consistent, nurturing support to help pupils reach their full potentialThe Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Experience working with children or young people with SEMH or challenging behaviour (education, care, youth work or similar)
A calm, patient and resilient approach
Strong communication and relationship-building skills
A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable learners
