Requirement:
2 years in metal preparing and finishing processes.
Purpose:
To prepare and finish stainless steel products to the required standards:
Job specific duties
· Working with stainless steel commonly up to 3mm
· To ensure that the visible surface areas of metalwork are finished to the required standard
· Prepare welded products before finishing (tidying welds, deburring, etc)
· Finish welded products as per the customer requirement for that order. Such finishes to include:
· Vapour Blast (glass media)
· NROB
· Grained
· Ability to work from engineering and manufacturing drawings on your own
· To record changes required to drawings to enable production information to be corrected and maintained accurately
· Able to use safely associated machines and tools eg (guillotines, rollers, stud gun, grinders, power files, drills.)
· A high standard of workmanship to be maintained at all times
· The company’s quality policies and requirements are to be maintained at all times
· Ensure safe working practices at all times
· Responsible for good housekeeping in your own work area in line with Lean and 5S requirements
· To promote a culture of continuous improvement among the workforce and implement such changes to reduce cost and assembly time whilst improving quality or ease of build.
