Year 6 Teaching Assistant/Intervention
About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated, confident, and experienced Year 6 Teaching Assistant to work in a supportive primary school team in the CV22 area. This is a key role focused on supporting pupils in preparation for SATs, helping to build their confidence and ensure they are fully prepared to achieve their best.
Working Pattern:
* Starting after Easter, working every Thursday in the first instance
* Increasing to 4 days per week after May half term
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide targeted intervention support in Maths and English
* Work with small groups and on a 1:1 basis to raise attainment
* Support pupils with SATs preparation, including exam techniques and timed practice
* Actively build pupils’ confidence in their learning and test readiness
* Deliver focused support in spelling, reading, and comprehension
* Assist the class teacher in planning and delivering engaging learning activities
* Monitor and track pupil progress, providing feedback where appropriate
Essential Requirements:
* Previous experience working within a primary school setting, ideally in KS2
* Strong SATs experience and understanding of Year 6 expectations
* Proven ability to build pupil confidence and support progress
* Confidence delivering intervention sessions in Maths and English
* Ability to support pupils with exam techniques and time management skills
* Experience supporting children with reading, comprehension, and spelling development
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* A proactive, flexible, and supportive approach
Desirable:
* Relevant Teaching Assistant qualification (e.g., Level 2 or 3)
* Experience working with pupils of varying abilities
* SATs experience
