The organisation specialises in providing long-term residential care, plus respite care and support in the community for young people from 16 years with complex needs including autism and learning difficulties.
Are you the right person for the job?
* Suitable cleared enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service Check DBS For both the Child and Adult workforce
* You will have a good knowledge of CQC and Ofsted inspection frameworks
* Knowledge of Health and Social Care Act 2008 Regulations 2014, Care Quality Commission Regulations 2009, and Ofsted regulations move this up next to other line referring to Ofsted & CQC
o Positive experience working with Residents with learning disabilities, autism, challenging behaviour, etc.
o Evident emotional resilience in working with Residents exhibiting challenging behaviour
o Development and maintenance of positive working relationships with colleagues and all significant parties
o Clear and concise communication skills, both verbal and written, including report and care plan completion
o Driving ability with evidence of a clean driving license
o Good IT skills
o Experience in implementing de-escalation skills and appropriate methods of control in respite and residential care
o Knowledge and experience in implementing Child & Adult Safeguarding Procedures
o Understanding of equal opportunities

What will your role look like?
You will be responsible for the overall development and management of the organisation
* Provide positive leadership and guidance to the team
* Ensure team members understand and commit to implementing policies and procedures in line with current legislation
* Guarantee team members' compliance with Ofsted & Care Quality Commission CQC regulations
* Facilitate staff induction, ensuring adherence to H&S procedures and the delivery of high-quality care
* Ensure regular supervision and annual appraisals for all staff
* Safeguard and promote the welfare and development of Residents
* Create a discrimination-free environment and challenge discrimination when relevant
* Foster a safe and sensitive environment that meets the individual needs of Residents
* Manage transitions and departures in line with company policy and procedures
* Support the team in crises, ensuring Residents are well-supported
* Oversee the development, monitoring, and implementation of individual Resident s care plans and case files
* Ensure specific needs of Residents are met, including religious observance, cultural needs, dietary requirements, medical conditions, and treatment
* Empower Children & Young Adults to take responsibility for their wishes and feelings
* Attend and ensure all staff attend required/relevant training
* Maintain effective communication systems, including handovers, staff meetings, logbooks, and regular meetings
