What you’ll be doing
as a Senior Quantity Surveyor
1. Assist in producing and delivering estimates and costs for all production and network capital solutions. Ensure the timely delivery of estimates/target costs that meet the relevant brief and are within budget.
2. Monitor project performance and ensure robust forecasting. All financial systems are updated to time, cost, and quality, appropriate KPIs and targets are in place, non-performance is identified, and corrective actions are implemented. Benchmarking is also in place.
3. Assist in the financial accountability for circa £30m per annum of a delivery programme, negotiating with suppliers as appropriate—demonstrable programme delivery in terms of time, cost, and quality.
4. Delivery of regulatory output, improvement of capital efficiency (Key Performance Indicators); and delivery of projects within the business plan.
5. Responsible for internal and external stakeholder engagement relating directly to project delivery. Appropriate processes are in place and monitored, non-performance is identified, and corrective actions are implemented, embedding relationships with Asset Management and Operations.
This role will be based on a hybrid basis at Clearwater Court; you must be on-site 3-4 days a week as the business requires.
Thirty-six hours a week, Monday to Friday.
It would be ideal for the successful candidate to hold a driver's licence and have access to transportation.
What you should bring to the role
6. Being educated at a degree level and chartered (or working towards) in Quantity Surveying or equivalent is required for this role.
7. Knowledge of Civil Engineering projects in a pre- and post-contract environment.
8. Hold your ground and offer reasoned advice in a fast-paced environment.
9. Knowledge of commercial and contractual contracts with an in-depth understanding of construction contracts, e.g. NEC.
10. Understand the costs and risks associated with project delivery.
