Technical Advisor - Monitoring and Data Systems Team - 32406
We are looking for a Technical Advisor to join our Monitoring Data & Systems Team (MDS). The role involves managing environmental monitoring systems and datasets, supporting users, and contributing to system upgrades.
Responsibilities
* Set up and manage users for monitoring systems
* Provide user support and resolve issues, especially during transition to the new My Environment application
* Update, improve and maintain datasets
* Respond to internal and external data requests
* Support system improvement and upgrade projects
Experience & Skills Required
* Experience working with large, complex datasets
* Willingness to develop and learn new technical skills and apply them across monitoring data and systems
* Motivated, organised, friendly, with strong attention to detail and comfort working in a dispersed team
* Proactive problem‑solving mindset
* Excellent written and verbal communication; adept at conveying complex technical information to both technical and non‑technical audiences
* Ability to build and maintain strong relationships, deliver via others and provide excellent customer service
* Experience managing environmental monitoring data systems (desirable)
* Experience with PowerBI, Access, Excel, Python, SharePoint Online, and R (desirable)
* Working knowledge of water‑quality monitoring (desirable)
Qualifications & Experience
* Functional and technical experience aligning with the MDS team objectives
* Willingness to undertake incident response duties and engage in training as required
