Overview
An exciting full time opportunity has become available within the Decontamination Hub on the Royal Blackburn Teaching Hospital site. We are looking for someone that enjoys working within a busy day to day environment and likes to work as part of a team.
Responsibilities
* Provide sterile surgical instruments, scopes, surgical supplies and clean laundry and linen to the Trusts many wards, departments and operating theatres.
* Work within the Hospital Decontamination Hub comprising the Hospital Sterilisation and Disinfection Unit (HSDU), Endoscopy Decontamination and the Laundry Department.
* Wash, dry, press and fold hospital linen on modern industrial machinery.
* In the Sterile Linen Unit wash, dry, inspect, fold and pack surgeon’s gowns, surgical drapes and wraps within a Clean Room.
* Assist with the re‑processing (receipting, cleaning and packing) of standard re‑usable surgical instruments, medical devices, equipment and procedure packs in the HSDU.
* Process endoscopes: receipt, pre‑clean, decontamination and packing.
* Work individually and as part of a team; take part in cross‑site working as required to meet the needs of the service.
* Work Monday to Saturday between 8am and 4pm.
* Adhere to the departments Quality Management System, work procedures and standard procedures, ensuring high standard, quick and accurate work to meet demands of operating theatres, wards and departments.
