We are looking for a creative, self‑motivated, dynamic, passionate and driven individual who literally wants to help us take on the world. As a Primary Maths Specialist the core purpose of your role will be to produce high‑quality materials, support primary teaching through CPD, work with teachers and leaders, and drive curriculum implementation.</p><h3>Responsibilities</h3><ul><li>Produce high‑quality materials that support the White Rose Maths curriculum.</li><li>Support the teaching of maths in primary provision through effective CPD and partnership with primary school leaders.</li><li>Work with individual teachers to improve their performance.</li><li>Work with school leaders to audit requirements, provision and plan for improvements.</li><li>Support and advise primary schools with effective implementation of the White Rose Maths curriculum.</li><li>Provide coaching and mentoring support, target setting, conduct observations and learning walks, undertake maths audits.</li><li>Assist in the implementation of the White Rose Maths curriculum by providing specialist guidance and support.</li><li>Role model and demonstrate outstanding teaching and learning.</li><li>Deliver school improvement programmes and support school improvement initiatives.</li><li>Actively monitor and maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of relevant education policy, developments, research and initiatives.</li><li>Participate in performance management reviews.</li><li>Deliver training programmes, CPD and support development of others.</li><li>Communicate effectively orally and in writing to a range of audiences.</li></ul><h3>Key Relationships</h3><p>Reports to: Head of Primary Maths</p><p>Key relationships: Head of Primary Maths, primary schools, teachers, school leaders, partner agencies.</p><h3>Qualifications</h3><ul><li>Required: Hold QTS and have passed ECT.</li><li>Degree level education and an excellent track record of recent, relevant professional development.</li><li>Accountability for the performance of a cohort of young people.</li><li>Evidence of effective teaching and performance within area of specialism (Primary Maths).</li></ul><h3>Desirable</h3><ul><li>Experience of subject leadership in a teaching environment.</li><li>Taking accountability for the success of an initiative.</li><li>Further study and educational research experience.</li><li>Experience creating different resources and using various software packages.</li><li>Ambitious, determination to succeed and the highest possible expectations of self and others.</li></ul><h3>Knowledge & Understanding</h3><ul><li>Principles and characteristics of outstanding teaching and learning.</li><li>Principles and practices of planning and delivery.</li><li>Effective review and evaluation procedures.</li><li>Innovative approaches to working with students, staff, partners and the local education community.</li><li>Application of ICT, literacy and numeracy to outstanding teaching.</li><li>Subject knowledge to a high level within the specific phase, National Curriculum and other relevant government publications.</li></ul><h3>Personal Qualities and Skills</h3><ul><li>Ability to inspire confidence in staff, students, parents and others.</li><li>Set high standards and provide a role model.</li><li>Enjoyment and commitment to personal development.</li><li>Enjoying work with young people.</li><li>Adaptability to changing circumstances and new ideas.</li><li>Reliability, integrity, and ability to prioritise, plan and organise.</li></ul><h3>Other Duties</h3><p>All staff must have an awareness and commitment to safeguarding and promote the welfare of students. Staff are expected to abide by company policies and procedures, which can be requested from the HR Manager.
