Objective:
To understand existing data structures, business requirements, and source mappings to facilitate accurate data transformation and integration.
Responsibilities:
* Analyze Current G-Base Data Output:
* Review existing G-Base data extraction outputs and corresponding staging table structures to comprehend data flow, data quality, and structure complexity.
* Integrate with GDWH Target Table Schemas & Business Needs:
* Understand GDWH (Global Data Warehouse) target schemas, including table designs, key relationships, and business requirements to ensure alignment.
* Identify Equivalent Data Sources in the New System:
* Map existing data sources to the new system architecture, ensuring completeness and compatibility.
* Collaborate with Tokyo Teams:
* Coordinate with Tokyo-based teams to gather GDWH requirements, ensuring consistency in global data standards, definitions, and expectations.
Mapping Design
Objective:
To develop detailed field-level mappings and transformation logic to facilitate data flow from source systems to target schemas.
Responsibilities:
* Define Field-Level Mappings & Transformation Logic:
* Document mappings specifying source to target fields, transformation rules (e.g., 1:1, many-to-one relationships), calculated fields, and data cleansing procedures.
* Establish Workflow Processes:
* Set up communication and collaboration workflows between onshore and offshore teams to ensure clarity, accountability, and timely issue resolution.
* Implement Peer Review & QA Checkpoints:
* Incorporate regular peer reviews, validation stages, and quality assurance checkpoints to ensure accuracy and completeness of mappings.
* Maintain Artefacts & Documentation:
* Store all mapping artefacts, data dictionaries, glossaries, review logs, and change histories within Mizuho repositories (e.g., Confluence, Jira). Ensure version control, traceability, and proper documentation from business requirements through to target table fields.
Deliverables & Review Support
Objective:
To provide comprehensive documentation and support for downstream teams during implementation.
Deliverables:
* Data Mapping Specifications (DMS):
* A detailed, comprehensive document capturing all field mappings, transformation logic (including SQL/ETL expressions), data dictionaries, code lists, and example datasets.
* Final Delivery & Handover Package:
* A complete, reproducible package including:
* Field-level mapping tables with transformation logic expressed in machine-readable formats.
* Data dictionaries, data code lists.
* Sample input/output datasets demonstrating transformation results.
* Build and run instructions, runbooks, and operational documentation.
* Client Review & Feedback:
* Support review sessions with stakeholders, incorporate feedback, and finalize deliverables.
Knowledge Transfer (KT) & Training
Objective:
To ensure smooth operational understanding and maintenance capabilities for Mizuho BA, Dev, and Support teams.
Responsibilities:
* KT Plan & Execution:
* Develop a structured knowledge transfer plan consisting of at least three sessions:
* Design Walkthrough:
Detailed walkthrough of mappings, logic, and architecture.
* Operations & Runbook Walkthrough:
Guidance on deployment, running, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
* Maintenance & Extension Training:
How to modify or extend mappings, troubleshoot issues, and perform routine updates.
* Materials & Recordings:
* Provide recordings of sessions, comprehensive training materials, and reference documents for future use.
Additional Notes:
* Language Proficiency:
* Bilingual (Japanese and English) fluency is preferred to facilitate collaboration with Tokyo teams and stakeholders.
* Tools & Repositories:
* Use of Mizuho's approved repositories and tools like Confluence, Jira, SQL, ETL platforms, and version control systems is mandatory to ensure consistency and traceability.
