Band 3 Rheumatology DAWN Patient Surveillance Assistant Administrator

This is a part‑time post for 18.75 hours per week.

The post holder will be the point of contact for all administrative issues relating to Rheumatology patients' pathway of care for blood surveillance.

Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to ensure the monitoring of patients on a surveillance pathway is managed smoothly.

Work closely with the Rheumatology CNSs and Consultants to support robust surveillance of the patient monitoring of their condition and act accordingly to the specialty instructions and SOPs.

Work closely with the DAWN/Biologic Multispecialty surveillance Administrator for Integrated Medicine and closely with the Rheumatology Clinical Administration Team (CAT 9) to ensure appropriate cross‑cover is provided.


Main duties of the job

Ensure high levels of patient and clinician satisfaction by being an accessible, customer‑focused and knowledgeable point of contact.

To provide a consistent approach across the Trust, to ensure that functions of the role are carried out correctly within given timescales, as per SOPs.

Demonstrate polite, clear, accurate advice line support for patients and document all communication on EPR and DAWN, with some self‑guided initiative.

The post holder will be expected to work autonomously and seek help from clinician when appropriate.


Person Specification


Education/ Qualifications/ Training:

* GCSE or equivalent in English and Maths, grades A‑C
* Significant Experience of using Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel or patient monitoring IT application
* Accurate data entry, typing and analytical skills
* NVQ Level 3 in Business Administration/Customer Care or acquired equivalent experience
* Ability to produce letters / reports using Word and Excel


Experience, Skills & Abilities

* Demonstrates excellent interpersonal skill and team working
* Polite, Clear and accurate telephone manners
* Excellent communication skills with particular ability to liaise effectively with multidisciplinary team members and patients
* Understanding and able to liaise with Primary Care, GP and community services
* Experience of working in the NHS healthcare administrative system and process

£25,760 to £27,476 a year pro‑rata per annum
