Complex Needs Practitioner
Location: High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire
Salary: £27,341 - £29,500 per annum

Aquarius is a charity dedicated to helping individuals and communities overcome harm caused by alcohol, drugs, and gambling. We are part of 'One Recovery Buckinghamshire' (ORB), a partnership between Inclusion (MPFT NHS Trust), Aquarius, and Build on Belief, providing support for alcohol and drug issues across Buckinghamshire.
The role involves engaging clients through various interventions, adopting a person-centred approach to empower them to reduce risks, build resilience, and achieve positive outcomes.
Practitioners work flexibly across community and multi-agency settings, managing a caseload that includes referrals from health and social care services. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team, delivering psychosocial interventions to diverse client groups.
A key aspect of the role is addressing holistic support needs related to substance use and overall wellbeing, including physical and emotional health, meaningful activities, family and relationships, community engagement, accommodation, and offending.
The ideal candidate will have a qualification in health/social care, youth and community work (e.g., NVQ Level 3 or above, DipSW, Mental Health Nursing, Counselling, Addiction Studies), or relevant experience in substance misuse with a commitment to obtaining NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care. Experience liaising with voluntary and statutory agencies, engaging clients effectively, and working flexibly across settings is essential. Excellent record-keeping, report writing, and a flexible approach are required.
