Engine Shop Supervisor – Classic & Historic Motorsport

2. Basic Salary up to £50,000 (DOE)
3. Monday – Friday, 07:30 – 17:00 (No Weekends)

Our client is a highly respected engineering business with an outstanding reputation for precision engine building across classic and historic race cars. From pre-war engines to Group B rally legends and modern classic GTIs, every day offers something unique.
This position requires someone who can not only build engines to exacting standards but lead a team, take control of parts, fabrication, deadlines, and deliver top-level technical support to clients and colleagues.

Your Role:
13. Oversee a small but skilled team (x5) in the Engine Shop
14. Still hands-on: Strip, assess, build, and test classic engines
15. Project manage engine builds & liaise with the machine shop
16. Provide tech support to customers & internal teams
17. Ensure deadlines are met and parts are sourced on time
18. Maintain build records and technical documentation
19. Sign off holidays, manage workflow, and champion quality
What You’ll Need:
20. Proven experience building vintage/classic/historic car engines
21. Leadership qualities & confidence managing a technical team
22. Sound engineering knowledge – able to interpret technical drawings
23. Understanding of carburettors, cam timing, compression ratios, ignition systems
24. Meticulous attention to detail and pride in high-standard builds
25. Experience working with dynos and rolling road testing is a bonus
