Part‑Time Health & Safety Advisor - Permanent – 3 days a week – Brighton
Our client are an established Carpentry Contractor who work with Tier 1 Contractors and they are looking for a Health and Safety Advisor to join their team on a part‑time basis working 3 days a week (Max 24 hours a week).
Day‑to‑day Duties
Main Responsibilities
* Review Health & Safety policies, RAMS and COSHH sheets.
* Create RAMS for new sites.
* Carry out regular site inspections to ensure safe working practices are being adhered to.
* Assist in toolbox talks, Health & Safety training for staff and subcontractors.
* Investigate and report on incidents, accidents, and near misses and recommend corrective actions.
* Maintain PPE equipment records.
* Work closely with Managers and Site Supervisors to promote a positive safety culture across all sites.
* Liaise with external auditors, clients, and regulatory bodies when required.
* Annual SMAS and compliance submission
* Complete face fit testing.
* Assist with Fire door sign offs and our in‑house Quality app.
Requirements
* NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent Health & Safety qualification (essential).
* Proven experience in a Health & Safety role within the construction or carpentry industry.
* Strong knowledge of UK Health & Safety legislation and HSE guidance.
* Excellent communication and organisational skills.
* Confident in conducting site inspections.
* Competent with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
* Own transport required for site visits across the South East.
