Gra fters Recruit Ltd require Transport Operations Clerk for our client in Bedford. Duties and responsibilities: To input accurate information regarding drivers, start / finish times. To work in conjunction with the Team Manager to ensure the transport operation meets the need of our client To ensure all drivers have what they need to complete their days work and allocate and dispatch on time To ensure all driver issues or queries are dealt with in a timely manner To keep the site management updated of any issues Responsibility for the day-to-day implementation of site people policies, engagement of colleagues and undertaking all activities relating to direct management of an operational management team Keep track of where drivers are and keep customer updated if any running late Full pre-brief and debrief of all drivers, to include, operational requirements and driver wellbeing Investing in driving our award-winning health and safety standard Breathe a culture of care, driving improvement in Health, Safety and Wellbeing through employee engagement. Pay rate: Days - £12.88 per hour Nights - £14.93 per hour Overtime Days after 48 hours - £19.33 per hour Overtime Nights after 48 hours - £21.37 per hour Experience, Skills, and A ttributes: Flexibility to cover shifts outside of the scheduled rota Experience in a similar position working in in the logistics environment would be desirable Build collaborative working relationships and communicate clearly with internal and external stakeholders and strategic partners Demonstrate great organisational and prioritisation skills. Demonstrate strength and confidence when interacting with colleagues. Basic knowledge of driving legislation, driving hours, tachograph policies and road traffic act would be essential Have excellent PC skills and be able to understand and harness IT and systems to benefit the operation. Experience with transport telematics Systems such as Tachomaster and Microlise is desirable Start Date, Training Plan, Shift Pattern, and Assignment Duration: ? Start Date: From 15 February 2026 ? Training Plan: Initial training will be conducted on day shifts, working 5 days out of 7 between 06:0014:00. After approximately one month of day-shift training, the successful candidate will transition to night shifts to continue their development ? Shift Pattern: Upon completing the initial training period, the candidate will move onto the operational shift pattern of 4 days on /4 days off, working 18:0006:00. ?
