Reporting to the Site Manager, the primary responsibility of this role is to manage the compliance of all aspects of Health, Safety, Environmental, Security and Quality systems for the Trafford Park and Deeside facilities.
Working closely with the Site Manager and the Manufacturing Management Team (MMT), the HSEQ Manager will lead and maintain each sites integrated Management System (IMS). The HSEQ Manager will also interact with LXS PTSE (Production, Technology, Safety & Environment) and PPS (Plant & Process Safety) group functions to maintain compliance with relevant Environmental, Process Safety and Occupational Health & Safety standards.
Help set overall HSEQ strategy and establish suitable targets and objectives for the facility.
Maintain and identify HSEQ training needs, highlighting areas where training/certification is required to meet the standards imposed by legislation, Approved Codes of Practice or HSE guidance.
Develop, maintain and implement the Integrated Management System (IMS) and ensure all policies and procedures are up to date, compliant with all applicable laws and regulations and aligned to LXS corporate requirements and guidelines.
Ensure continued ISO certifications for ISO 9001 (Quality) and ISO 14001 (Environmental) to the current scope and any future standards deemed necessary by the Company, for example, ISO 45001 (Health & Safety) and 50001 (Energy)and any other standards that become required.
Ensure that the Company is proactive, up to date and complies with all relevant Health, Safety & Environmental (HS&E) legislation.
Ensure compliance with all license, consents and environmental permitting requirements, including any variations, renewals and modifications.
· Manage COMAH compliance and oversee the Process Safety Management (PSM) programme.
Be the principal point of contact with the regulatory authorities (including the Health and Safety Executive, Environment Agency, and Fire Service).
Experience in chemical manufacturing (COMAH facility) is essential.
Knowledge of IMS – principles, implementation and auditing of ISO 14001 and 9001.
Fact-based analysis and decision-making.
Good basic working IT knowledge of Microsoft Office Professional.
NEBOSH National Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety or equivalent (minimum)..
