Assistant Quantity Surveyor - Brighton & Hove Salary: £35,000 - £45,000 (DOE) Package Location: Brighton & Hove, East Sussex Start: March 2026 Atkinson Baker Associates are currently recruiting an ambitious Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join a respected Regional Main Contractor based in Sussex. The Role This role is perfect for an AQS with 2 years of experience who is looking to take their career to the next level. You will be working within an experienced commercial team, receiving hands-on support and mentorship to help you develop your skillset. We are very open to speaking with candidates currently working in the Sub-Contracting sector who want to make the transition into Main Contracting. The key requirement is a passion for construction and a drive to learn. Key Responsibilities Assisting Senior Surveyors with commercial management of live projects. Sub-contractor procurement and management (sending enquiries, analysing quotes). Measuring and valuing works. Assisting with monthly valuations and cost reporting. Site visits to monitor progress and capture variations. Requirements Essential: Minimum 2 years of experience in a Quantity Surveying role (Main Contractor or Sub-Contractor background). Essential: A genuine passion for construction and a drive to improve your commercial knowledge. Preferred: Degree or HNC/HND in Quantity Surveying (or currently studying). Strong numerical and IT skills (Excel). Local to the Brighton & Hove area. What's on Offer £35,000 - £45,000 salary (Dependent on experience). Start date: March 2026.
