Job Title: Operations Training Instructor

Role Overview
The Operations Training Instructor will coordinate and deliver training programs across all departments, ensure compliance with mandatory training requirements, and enhance workforce skills. This role supports continuous improvement initiatives, tracks key performance indicators (KPIs), and maintains all training documentation. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring staff competency, safety, and operational efficiency within Moore Concrete.
Hours of Work
Hours will be variable between 32 – 48 hours per week as needed. Standard hours are Monday – Friday, 08:00 am to 5:00 pm, with flexibility for overtime and Saturdays if necessary.
Key Responsibilities
1. Ensure all mandatory training is completed and up-to-date for employees.
2. Plan, organise, and deliver mandatory and statutory training as per the Skills Matrix.
3. Coordinate and deliver cross-training based on the Matrix to enhance workforce adaptability.
4. Conduct induction training for new employees, ensuring they are fully prepared for their roles.
5. Carry out post-validation assessments after training sessions to confirm competency.
6. Maintain and update training records to ensure compliance with company and industry standards.
7. Develop, maintain, and update training manuals and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all roles.
8. Ensure all employees are trained and validated against these SOPs.
9. Organise and manage legally required training (e.g., abrasive wheels, crane operation).
10. Provide necessary training information to Production Leaders for new start reviews.
11. Forecast future training requirements in collaboration with HR and Production Managers.
12. Track and update daily/weekly KPIs, including compliance rates and skills coverage.
13. Conduct lean audits to drive compliance and coach employees for improvements.
14. Lead root cause analysis (RCA) sessions to resolve quality or production issues.
15. Ensure effective use of lean management systems by supervisors, team leaders, and operators.
16. Set and enforce housekeeping standards within lean systems.
17. Attend departmental meetings to discuss training progress and development needs.
18. Communicate with managers and employees to identify skills gaps and training needs.
19. Handle emails, KPI updates, and administrative tasks related to training.
20. Perform other duties within reason and capability as agreed with the Director.
Essential Criteria
1. Previous experience organising and conducting training events.
2. Strong verbal and written communication and negotiation skills.
3. Good numerical and literacy skills.
4. Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment.
5. Strong IT proficiency, including Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
Desirable Criteria
1. Full clean driving licence.
2. Ability to operate machinery.
3. CSR, first aid, or fire warden training.
