We are currently looking for a talented Safety, Health, and Environment Coordinator to join our team at Westerleigh, Supporting the site SHE manager to ensure the site is compliant and adhering to company policies, procedures, initiatives, and statutory legislation, whilst developing and maintaining good employee relations. In addition, actively drive company initiatives, supporting the SHE Manager with projects, as necessary.
Shift pattern:
07:00am – 15:30pm
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct monthly first aid audits to ensure correct management of first aid boxes and defibrillators battery checks are undertaken and record findings
Accurately maintain the site accident and Employers Liability claims databases
Maintain a SHE Document register
Ensure site is adhering to company policies and procedures, ensuring legal compliance and best practice at all times
Works collaboratively to develop a department that is respected by all
Assist the SHE Manager to produce and submit monthly site KPI report, highlighting KPI compliance [RAG] and trends including commentary on recommendations for improvement.
Monitor and produce utilities usage / cost reports
Support and assist accident investigations, advise and guide on root cause analysis to all department leads / investigators
Ensure all documentation is compiled correctly and appropriately filed and any actions are followed up and an action plan created Facilitate good communication between all departments to monitor absence levels from accidents/incidents including RIDDOR / Severe notifiable events. Ensure all departments are fully engaged in effecting an early return to work
Conduct regular factory / site visits (daily to all departments) to monitor and assess risks and hazards
Assist and advise Department leads / Managers with the compilation, production and review of all Risk Assessments within their level of competence and advise where specialist assistance is needed
Assist OH / HR with vulnerable persons, expectant mothers & young person's assessments
Proactively support the site Management team / Department leads with SHE Standards Audits program ensuring site is fully prepared to successfully participate and engage in any audit process
Assisting with the delivery of the following: Back in Action, Toolbox talks, SHE SOP's
Support SHE Manager with the accurate filing of all waste documentation and its data recorded in CDT
Skills / Knowledge:
Must be flexible and be able to prioritise their work load.ng own workload and excellent time management skills plus an ability to work autonomously or as part of a team
Up to date knowledge of Health, Safety and Environmental legislation and can confidently answer questions and support with SHE Manager with issues as they arise
Strong administration skills with proficiency in Microsoft excel, word, PowerPoint and a competent user of Carbon Desktop reporting systems
Previous Auditing experience advantageous
Qualifications:
IOSH Managing Safely
COSHH awareness
Working towards NEBOSH General Certification or Level 3 apprenticeship in Health, Safety and Environmental award
Working towards IEMA training or in receipt of
Accident Investigation / Root Cause Analysis
