PROPOSED SALARY RANGE: £24,800 - £30,000 (plus London weighting) depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
BBC Eye is a global brand with a reputation for fearless, pioneering investigative journalism. Our multi-award-winning team produces high impact original journalism for BBC News. The work has an outstanding real-world impact and has become, in many instances, the basis for international calls to action and investigations of human rights abuses by governments and global organisations.
We are seeking motivated researcher who can support Journalists to produce engaging material across a wide range of key programmes and platforms. The role will work alongside our investigative teams to produce powerful short-form content across BBC News.

Your Key Responsibilities And Impact
* Utilise your proven experience in multiplatform journalism to produce engaging linear packages and digital products for the most high-profile outlets.
* Produce high impact content via TV, radio, text and video that reaches our young, underserved audience and is suitable for delivery on multiple platforms across BBC News.
* Amplify stories creatively through storytelling and imaginative guest booking and curation.
* Tailor programme sequences around material to maximise audience engagement.
* Drive collaboration with other journalists and departments from across the language services and the other teams in BBC News.
Essential Criteria
YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
* Proven record of contributing ideas for programmes, items and new treatments.
* Some experience in media research in televisions, radio, print journalism or online, including the ability to identify key ideas, debates and issues within a field.
* Ability to operate basic equipment for the capture of sounds and pictures.
* Demonstrates a commitment to improving diversity in the BBC and understands how individual differences can benefit the BBC.
* Effective planning and organising skills, ability to concentrate on several areas of work at one time, delivering consistently to deadlines and reacting positively to changes and conflicting priorities.
* Proven ability to locate relevant sources of information, contributors, guests and other assets using initiative, perseverance and persuasion and an extensive contact base. Has the ability to establish rapport quickly with a wide range of people within and outside the BBC either face to face, over the telephone or in writing.
* The flexibility and adaptability to sustain performance, particularly under pressure to meet deadlines and changing priorities and circumstances.
