Operating in Stratospace, Zephyr supports global connectivity, environmental monitoring, disaster response, and more.As part of this mission, you'll join a passionate, highly skilled team dedicated to pushing boundaries and unlocking the full potential of this cutting-edge technology.The OpportunityWe're looking for an Avionics Technician to support the manufacture, assembly, and testing of the Zephyr aircraft. You'll work hands-on with advanced avionics hardware, helping ensure the safe, efficient and timely delivery of aircraft to meet AALTO's operational requirements.This role suits someone who thrives in a technical environment, enjoys problem-solving, and wants to contribute to a truly unique aerospace programme.What You'll Be Doing
* Manufacturing in-house avionics components to exacting standards.
* Following engineering drawings, build instructions, and test procedures.
* Completing and maintaining accurate build and test records.
* Performing dimensional verification using calibrated tools and jigs.
* Conducting and recording environmental and functional tests (thermal, pressure, etc.).
* Working safely with fragile and high-precision components, including microscope-based assembly.
* Supporting continuous improvement by identifying process efficiencies and problem-solving with the wider team.
* Contributing to clean-room operations and maintaining 6S workplace standards.
* Adhering to Health & Safety requirements and escalating risks when needed.
* Providing guidance and support to new or less experienced team members.
What We're Looking ForExperience is prioritised over formal qualifications, but we are seeking candidates with:Technical Skills & Experience
* Proven hands-on experience in avionics manufacturing or aviation maintenance.
* Ability to solder to a high standard (IPC qualification desirable).
* Experience working in ESD-sensitive and/or clean-room environments.
* Strong understanding of test equipment and test procedures.
* Ability to read engineering drawings confidently.
* Experience assembling avionics hardware using microscopes.
* Practical knowledge of Human Factors, FOD controls, Tool Control, COSHH and general aviation safety.

* IOSH certification.

* £31.16 per hour Umbrella
