Are you passionate about supporting young people and their mental health?

We're looking for caring, committed professionals to join our Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) Triage and Assessment team across Derbyshire. Whether you're a Mental Health Nurse, Social Worker, or Occupational Therapist with experience in mental health, we'd love to welcome you into our team.

Where You'll Be Working:

2 x 1.0 WTE posts covering 1 or 2 of the following areas -

Derby City (Temple House)

Erewash & South Derbyshire (Century House and Dale Bank View)

Amber Valley (Ripley Resource Centre)

In these rewarding roles, you will triage, assess and support children and young people up to age 18 who are experiencing a wide range of mental health needs, including trauma, anxiety, depression, neurodevelopmental conditions, and self-harm.

You'll be part of a compassionate, experienced team that works collaboratively to provide thoughtful and effective care. We offer a wide range of therapeutic approaches within CAMHS, including CBT, Family Therapy, and DBT, and we're committed to helping you grow professionally through regular supervision, development opportunities, and strong team support.


Main duties of the job

You will be supported to develop knowledge and skills in mental health assessments and working systemically with children and families within our experienced, multi-disciplinary teams.

We welcome applications from mental health nurses currently working with adults who want to develop a career within CAMHS.

Through robust supervision and training opportunities, we will aim to develop your knowledge, skills and experience within a CYP IAPT Service.

The team is supported by a Team Manager and senior clinicians within the service.

Job responsibilities

CAMHS is part of the CYP-IAPT initiative, and the post holder will use Routine Outcome Measures to influence and evaluate all assessments and interventions offered.

The Triage and Assessment team has bases in Derby City, Amber Valley and a team across Erewash and South Derbyshire.

You will receive clinical, managerial and safeguarding supervision.

We are looking for a suitably-experienced, qualified clinician, who will improve children and young peoples mental health, through providing highly specialist, clinical assessment and care planning within the CAMHS urgent care pathway.

This will involve the assessment and treatment of children and young people who present with a wide range of mental health problems, including trauma, and co-morbid neuro-developmental conditions.

In accordance with national and local priorities, clinical guidelines, the post holder will be responsive to the needs and views of local children, young people and their families.

As a Lead Nurse / Practitioner the post holder will work in partnership with the CAMHS leadership team, Medical Consultants and multi-disciplinary teams, to ensure the highest level of clinical practice in assessment, case management, care co-ordination and treatment.

They will be required to ensure that the best evidence-based care is given to children, young people and their families, within the resources available to the service.

There will be an emphasis upon working with complex-presenting difficulties and multi-agency networks.

Person Specification


Qualifications

* Current professional registration with governing body (NMC/HCPC
* Degree/ Diploma in Nursing/SW/OT
* Qualification in a therapeutic modality
* BABCP registration
* Post graduate qualification in Child Mental Health
* Registered AMHP


Skills and experience

* Post registration experience (recent and relevant) as a Registered professional
* Experience of working with people who have complex and severe mental health and behavioural needs
* Previous experience of community and home treatment
* Prior experience of working within CAMHS
