The Database Reliability Engineering team are responsible for all our databases of the PayPoint network and other related services. They ensure that data is protected, that the performance is at its best, while always looking at ways to makes things work better and faster. We now have an opportunity for a Database Reliability Engineer to join the team and help the provide a strong and secure Database environment. What will you be doing? You will be joining a busy team that currently assist with incident fixes across our network but also approach project's which are geared to make our environment more reliable and efficient. You will have the opportunity to work on new installation's, while maintaining the Microsoft SQL Server, adding improvements when possible. We are automating many of our processes, giving you a chance to share your automation skills and apply them to our fresh way of working. You will have a keen eye for detail, looking at risks to the environment and how we can minimise these for less disruption to our network. You will work with multiple teams across PayPoint such as our Business Intelligence, Application Support and Development, supporting and cross training where possible. What would we like from you? Strong knowledge of Database Administration in either a Project or Operations environment Expert knowledge in Microsoft SQL Server 2008 with the ability for - Performance Tuning & Query plans, HA & DR Solutions and Portioning. Solid understanding of Microsoft Azure Technologies Experience with T-SQL, SQL Server Upgrades and cloud migrations Good knowledge around Scripting and automation tools like Powershell, Terraform Any knowledge around SSIS, SSRS, Power BI It would be great if you already have… PCI - DSS Compliance knowledge NoSQL - Mongo An understanding around Solarwinds, Zabbix, Grafana, Prometheus and Service Now What can we do for you?
