Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Kennel Hand to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a genuine love for animals and a strong commitment to their care and well-being. This role involves providing daily care for animals in a kennel environment, ensuring their comfort, safety, and health while also delivering excellent customer service to pet owners.
Duties
* Provide daily care for animals, including feeding and exercising dogs and cats, rabbits and guinea pigs
* Maintain cleanliness of kennels, including regular cleaning of cages, bedding, and common areas.
* Monitor the health and behaviour of animals, reporting any concerns to staff.
* Assist with the administration of medications as directed by veterinary professionals.
* Ensure that all animals receive adequate socialisation and attention throughout the day.
* Provide exceptional customer service by communicating effectively with pet owners regarding their pets' needs and well-being.
* Participate in heavy lifting tasks associated with animal care, including moving large bags of food or equipment as necessary.
Qualifications
* Previous experience is highly desirable but not essential; a passion for animal care is crucial.
* Strong understanding of animal behaviour and handling techniques.
* Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and compassionately with pet owners.
* Ability to perform heavy lifting tasks as required in the kennel environment.
