Role
A forward-thinking, inclusive primary school in Lewisham is seeking a Therapeutic Learning Assistant to support pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and social-emotional challenges through imaginative, therapeutic approaches. Starting September 2025, this full-time, term-time role offers a fantastic launchpad into therapeutic and mental health careers.
Responsibilities
* Work 1:1 and in small groups with pupils with Autism, SLCN, and emotional regulation needs
* Use drama, music, art, or play to support therapeutic and learning goals
* Contribute to a compassionate, inclusive learning environment
* Collaborate closely with staff and therapists on targeted support plans
Requirements & Qualifications
* Degree in Art, Drama, Music, Psychology, Education, or related discipline
* Passionate about child development and creative therapeutic approaches
* Emotionally attuned, patient, and highly engaging
* Experience working with children or vulnerable groups is desirable
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills
* A future therapist, counsellor, SEN teacher, or wellbeing professional in the making
