Closing Date 2025-09-17 Job Title: Governance & Assurance Lead Location: Hybrid – Base anywhere within South Coast, with 2 days per week at Durrington head office Contract Type: Fixed term contract until July 2026 Hours: 37 hours per week Salary: Up to £51,000 per annum About the role Join Southern Water as a Wastewater Governance & Assurance Lead. You will work with the Wastewater Governance & Assurance Manager to deliver first line assurance within the Wastewater directorate. This role ensures compliance with regulatory standards and supports accurate reporting. What you will be responsible for: Provide first line assurance for Wastewater regulatory reports (Annual Spill Report, Bathing Water, OFWAT Compliance Framework). Analyse and reconcile data for pollution forecasting and performance reporting. Work with regulators during EA Alignment review meetings. Respond to regulatory data requests ensuring accuracy and consistency. Support assurance activities including Section 19 assurance and process improvements. Communicate findings and actions to Wastewater field teams and resolve operational issues. Additional Requirements: Hybrid working pattern with regular travel to Durrington head office. What you’ll bring to the role: Essential Knowledge of Wastewater operations and environmental risks. Strong analytical skills and ability to write technical reports. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Office applications. Logical and adaptable problem-solving skills. Desirable Experience in regulatory reporting and assurance. Understanding of OFWAT and EA compliance frameworks.
