We are seeking an experienced, enthusiastic, and committed Year 6 Teacher to join a supportive and inclusive primary school in Crawley, starting as soon as possible. The Role As a Year 6 Teacher, you will be responsible for planning, delivering, and assessing lessons across the Key Stage 2 curriculum. You will support pupils’ learning in literacy, numeracy, and foundation subjects while fostering independence, resilience, and positive learning behaviours. You will also collaborate with teaching assistants, colleagues, and parents to ensure all pupils receive consistent and personalised support. You will monitor pupil progress, provide targeted interventions where required, and maintain a positive, inclusive classroom environment that encourages curiosity, engagement, and confidence. Key Responsibilities Plan, deliver, and assess high-quality lessons across the Year 6 curriculum Deliver engaging literacy, numeracy, and foundation subject lessons Prepare pupils effectively for SATs and secondary school transition Differentiate learning to meet the needs of all pupils, including SEND and EAL Promote independence, resilience, and positive learning behaviours Maintain a structured, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment Track pupil progress and maintain accurate assessment records Provide targeted interventions to support pupil attainment Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, colleagues, and senior leaders Communicate effectively with parents and carers regarding pupil progress Contribute to staff meetings, CPD sessions, and whole-school initiatives Support enrichment activities, school events, and extra-curricular opportunities Ensure safeguarding and child protection procedures are followed at all times Who We’re Looking For The ideal candidate will: Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) Have experience teaching Upper Key Stage 2, ideally Year 6 Demonstrate strong classroom management and organisational skills Be reflective, adaptable, and proactive Show a strong commitment to inclusion, safeguarding, and pupil wellbeing Work effectively as part of a professional and supportive team Location The school is located in Crawley, with excellent transport links and a supportive local community.
