We have an exciting opportunity for a Maintenance (M&E) Supervisor to join our Facilities Management team at Broomfield Hospital in Chelmsford on a permanent basis. This is a full-time role working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday on a weekly rotating shift pattern of 06:45 to 15:45 / 08:00 to 17:00.
Key activities:
* Reporting to the Operations Manager / Senior Operations Manager
* Supervise mechanical/electrical/building trade staff and specialist contractors
* Ensure proper allocation and completion of work, in line with performance monitoring and client satisfaction
* Order materials and services within delegated authority and certify delivery/completion
* Monitor trade staff performance, timekeeping, and sickness according to company policy
* Provide estimates for works, site measurements, cost control, and maintain records
* Undertake training and qualify as AP and/or CP if required
* Work with tools as necessary during routine work and emergencies, supporting staff
* Participate in a call-out rota system for emergency response
* Hold a recognized electrical or mechanical trade apprenticeship and/or relevant qualification to level 3
* Have significant experience in building services, ideally within a hospital setting
* Possess supervisory or management experience and be a team player
* Be client-focused with a proactive approach
* Demonstrate knowledge of trade groups such as building works, mechanical, and electrical engineering
* Exhibit good communication and customer service skills
* Show adaptability, planning, organizing, and prioritizing abilities
