An excellent opportunity has arisen for innovative and highly motivated individuals to work collaboratively with the Clinical Education Team and Lead Practitioners to provide advice, direction and support to staff in clinical practice. This will involve working closely with the Lead Educator initiating and responding to changes in education requirements, delivering education and development within the Directorate and utilising a range of teaching and assessing skills and knowledge to support practice based learning.
The successful applicant will also require excellent skills in clinical practice, interpersonal relationships, communication and information technology (word processing skills, e-mail, power point, excel and using MS Teams).

Main duties of the job
Works in conjunction with the Lead Educator, Lead Practitioners and other Clinical Educators to implement an effective Education and Training strategy that reflects, supports and responds to identified educational requirements across Operating Services and Anaesthesia, Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
Works in conjunction with the Lead Educator to develop and implement an effective strategy that reflects the needs of the Operating Service’s Business plan and annual service objectives.
Works in conjunction with the Lead Educator, Lead Practitioners and other Clinical Educators to provide a high quality service through provision of educational opportunities to develop a competent and knowledgeable workforce.

This vacancy is advertised on a fixed term contract basis for the maximum period of 12 months. Where there is potential, the secondment/fixed term contract may finish early, or in the first instance, the secondment/fixed term contract may be extended due to the internal/external secondment of the substantive post holder. The fixed term contract status of the post holder will be reviewed in accordance with the Trust's legal obligations regarding fixed term contracts and secondments in relation to the substantive post holder.

1. Registered Nurse with valid NMC or Registered ODP with valid HCPC
2. Evidence of on-going CPD
3. To have completed the national PEAP programme for practice supervisors or equivalent teaching and assessing qualification for those with ENB998.
4. Evidence of Level 6 study
Desirable criteria
5. Evidence of management and leadership development
Experience

6. Significant post-registration experience within an operating department
7. Ability to lead, motivate and develop staff
8. Advising, supporting and teaching learners in clinical practice
