About The Role
As a Health and Safety Advisor, you will be:
* Working closely with the Health and Safety managers and directors to provide training, independent advice, guidance, and support to operational staff across contracts based in Yorkshire. Focus on delivering contractual client requirements and frontline support to operatives, embedding good working practice and ensuring company policy and procedures are adhered to.
* Keeping the safety management system updated and driving adoption of a more Human Factors based approach in support of management HSEQ engagement.
* Support managers in monitoring and managing multi-discipline contracts, with a specific focus on risk identification, management, and control through site inspection and audit. Collaborate to deliver safety guidance on company standards and safe working practices. Assist and advise on risk assessments, ensuring employee involvement and timely reviews.
* Work with the HSEQ department to implement Health, Safety, Environment and Quality strategies and delivery plan.
* Support development, administration, and upkeep of the Safety Management Systems.
* Collaborate with the client and safety team to ensure efficient working and reduce travel by supporting managers within your geographical region.
* Assist in investigations into accidents, incidents, near misses across service platforms, ensuring transparent and fair processes with appropriate corrective and preventative actions.
* Support in managing reporting requirements, ensuring timely notifications and reports for the service platform, and producing analyses of leading and lagging indicators to demonstrate effectiveness and address key issues.
About You
We are looking for individuals who have:
* NEBOSH Qualification or equivalent
* Previous HSEQ experience, ideally from a utilities background
* Full UK Driving Licence with no more than 6 penalty points
* Self-motivated and able to work on own initiative
* Ability to prioritise in a busy, changing environment
* Proficient in writing suitable and sufficient risk assessments and method statements
* Team player with the ability to build good working relationships across all levels of personnel
* A flexible approach to working
Working Hours & Location
* Working hours: Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week
* Location: Yorkshire Region
* Company vehicle
* 25 days holiday + Bank holidays
