Senior Legal Counsel – Infrastructure, Transport and Renewables
Location: London (Hybrid working)
The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced projects and infrastructure lawyer to join a leading UK energy and infrastructure business as Senior Legal Counsel. This is a high-profile role supporting major infrastructure, transport and renewable energy projects, including offshore wind, solar and hydrogen developments.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide legal advice across the full lifecycle of large-scale infrastructure and energy projects
* Draft, review and negotiate EPC, O&M and related commercial contracts
* Support on PPP/PFI projects and other concession agreements
* Advise on project development matters including land, planning and regulatory aspects
* Assist with large-scale infrastructure financings and liaise with external counsel as required
* Work closely with commercial, engineering and finance teams to deliver projects on time and within budget
* Manage external legal advisers effectively and ensure value for money
* Contribute to legal team know-how, templates and best practice guidance
About You
* UK-qualified solicitor with around 5–10 years’ PQE
* Trained private practice with subsequent in-house experience in the infrastructure, energy or renewables sector
* Strong track record in EPC, O&M and project development contracts
* Experience with PPP/PFI and project financing structures
* Knowledge of regulatory issues relating to energy and renewables an advantage
* Commercially minded, pragmatic, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced, project-driven environment
* Strong stakeholder management skills and ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams
