£45,000 – £55,000 per annum
Full-time | Permanent

Howard James Recruitment is delighted to be working with a well-established and growing business in the fire and security sector to recruit an experienced Finance Manager.

This is a senior, hands-on role offering the opportunity to take full ownership of the finance function, influence financial strategy, and play a key part in supporting continued business growth. It’s an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded finance professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

The Role

As Finance Manager, you will lead the finance function and act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership. Your responsibilities will include:

Leading and managing the finance team

*

Developing and delivering financial strategy aligned with business growth plans

*

Overseeing budgeting, forecasting and long-term financial planning

*

Preparing and presenting monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports

*

Monitoring cash flow, profitability and overall financial performance

*

Ensuring compliance with statutory requirements, tax obligations and financial regulations

*

Managing payroll, accounts payable and accounts receivable

*

Leading audits and liaising with external auditors and regulatory bodies

*

Providing strategic financial insight to support decision-making and business development

*

Identifying efficiencies, cost-saving opportunities and implementing strong financial controls

*

Working closely with department heads on budgets and performance tracking

*

Managing relationships with banks and external stakeholders

About You

To be successful in this role, you will be a confident and proactive finance professional with strong leadership skills. You will ideally have:

*

A professional finance qualification (ACCA, AAT, CIMA) or be qualified by experience

*

Proven experience in a senior finance role within a commercial or service-based environment

*

Strong financial planning, analysis and reporting expertise

*

Excellent Excel skills and experience using Sage and Xero

*

Strong numerical, analytical and problem-solving abilities

*

High attention to detail and accuracy

*

The ability to manage multiple priorities and work to deadlines

*

A collaborative approach and the confidence to influence at all levels
