We are the independent regulator for social service workers in Scotland. Our work means the people of Scotland cancount on social work, social care and children and young people services being provided by a trusted, skilled,confident and valued workforce.

We protect the public by registering people working in social work, social care and children and young peopleservices, setting standards for their practice, conduct, training and education and by supporting theirprofessional development. Where people fall below the standards of practice and conduct, we can investigate andact.

The Commission protects and promotes the human rights of people with mental illness, learning disabilities, dementiaand related conditions.

We have a varied and interesting role as a Medical Officer for the right candidate to join our team on a Permanentbasis.

The Medical Officer will be part of a multi-disciplinary area team and report to a Senior Manager. They will beprofessionally accountable to the Executive Director (Medical) for their specialty.

The post-holder must be a fully registered medical practitioner and hold the MRCPsych or equivalent or be eligiblefor accreditation as an AMP. They must have experience of providing medical psychiatric care and working in amultidisciplinary team across a range of psychiatric sub-specialities.

The role also requires excellent IT, written and verbal skills.

You must have an excellent understanding of the mental health and learning disability agenda in Scotland and thecapacity to influence and negotiate with high-level colleagues in the health, social care and voluntary sectors.They must also be able to communicate effectively and empathically with mental health and learning disabilityservice users, carers and advocates

Also, you must have experience in the application of, and excellent understanding of, mental health and incapacitylegislation in Scotland. Experience of working with Mental Health Officers and knowledge of their role isrequired.

About you

What we need you to bring

* First level registered and paediatric qualified nurse, all applicants will need to provide a valid UK NMCpin.
* Experience in a caring (nursing) role, working with children, young people and theirfamilies.
* Experience of prioritising a busy workload and demonstrating good time managementskills
* Appetite to contribute to positive change to this service, and commitment to delivering care withempathy and compassion.
* Driving licence and access to a car as this role requires travel across thecommunity.

It would be great if you also had:

* Experience in working with children who have complex or life-limiting conditions

The Head of Social Enterprise will manage the Fortune Works service. Fortune Works has existed in various forms since1960, and today is one of Scotland’s largest social enterprises for adults with learning disabilities. Theservice promotes choice, autonomy, and meaningful involvement in real economic activity and engagement in thelocal community.

The service provides tailored, outcome-focused support to up to 120 people. It focuses on community connection,creative expression, and personal development. Central to this approach is our commitment to work-basedactivity. Through collaborations with external commercial partners, we provide opportunities for service usersto learn new skills and complete meaningful tasks. We also have long-standing links with local community groups,statutory agencies, and city-wide institutions such as FE Colleges and universities.

Fortune Works is part of Enable Glasgow. Enable Glasgow is a membership organisation that also runs services forpeople with learning disabilities in the city. Services include a range of supported living services, socialopportunities, social enterprise activity, advocacy, and campaigning. The organisation was founded in 1957, andwe currently have around 200 direct service users, and almost 400 members.

The successful applicant will be an experienced manager or supervisor with a background in social care, communitydevelopment, or social enterprise. They will have a demonstrable ability to manage a busy service, takeadvantage of opportunities for service development, and build good relationship with external partners. Theywill have a demonstrable commitment to the human rights and aspirations of people with learningdisabilities.

We have a fantastic opportunity for an Asset Officer to join Ark.

The Asset Officer will be responsible for the delivery of Ark's cyclical programme of works and plannedinvestment programme including the decarbonisation of the Association's existing stock.

This vital project management role ensures statutory legislative and regulatory requirements and that Ark fully meettheir landlord property compliance obligations to ensure Tenant and Resident Health and Safety.

The Asset Officer will report directly to the Asset and Compliance Manager. Ark is considered a specialist housing provider as many of our properties are specifically designed or adapted toaccommodate people with a range of learning difficulties, physical disabilities, and other complex needs;however, we also provide housing to general need tenants who do not require care and support.

We currently own and manage 545 assets and 530 tenancies across 13 Local Authority areas, whilst smaller in numbersin comparison to peer organisations, Ark’s tenant and stock base is varied, complex and geographically spreadfrom Peebles to Fraserburgh. Our customer insight information identifies that 76% of our tenants are supportedand received care and support services in their home either by Ark Care and Support or external careproviders.
