Trafford and Stockport College Group (TSCG) is seeking an experienced Art and Design Lecturer to contribute to our vision of unlocking potential and fostering success.
About The Role
This role is a pivotal position within the Art and Design team, reporting directly to the Programme Leader of Art and Design at our Stockport campus. It offers an excellent opportunity to develop your professional and leadership skills. You will be responsible for teaching, curriculum development, student guidance, and professional development, including delivering courses, assessing student progress, and contributing to the wider academic community.
Key Responsibilities
* Teaching and Curriculum: Design, develop, and deliver engaging lessons and modules, incorporating new knowledge and techniques in art and design, adapting to various student levels and learning styles.
* Student Support: Provide guidance and feedback to students, acting as a personal tutor and supporting their academic and career paths.
* Assessment and Evaluation: Assess student work, provide constructive feedback, and monitor progress to address underachievement.
* Professional Development: Stay current with developments in the field, engage in professional development, and contribute to departmental activities and policies.
* Research and Scholarship: Participate in research activities, contributing to the knowledge base of the field.
* Community Engagement: Engage in outreach and widening participation activities.
Additional Responsibilities
* Plan, develop, and implement art and art history curriculum to meet learning goals in line with UAL specifications.
* Monitor KPIs and student progress, contributing to high standards of attendance, retention, and achievement.
* Prepare and arrange art materials and equipment for student use and exploration.
With a forward-thinking approach, continuously seek ways to enhance processes and improve the student experience throughout their journey at the college. Understanding the needs of internal clients, external partners, and adapting to changing regulations will be crucial.
