Overview
You will be involved in the build of support structures used in Shiprepair/Shipbuilding.
An in house weld test will be required before joining the contract, which will be a 3G single prep run fillet weld at 45 degrees on 25mm carbon plate.
Previous dissimilar welding experience is required. On site they are specifically doing Duplex pins to Mild steel using TIG & MMA or TIG & MIG, but any dissimilar welding experience is ideal.
Key Responsibilities
* Perform Flux Core Arc Welding (FCAW) to a high standard
* Perform dissimilar welding as outlined above
* Ensure all welding operations meet the specified quality and safety standards
* Read and interpret technical drawings accurately
* Work effectively within a team to achieve project deadlines
* Conduct regular maintenance checks on welding equipment
Job Requirements
* Proven experience in Flux Core Arc Welding (FCAW)
* Strong technical knowledge of welding processes and standards
* Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
* Commitment to maintaining high safety standards
* Excellent teamwork and communication skills
* Attention to detail and precision in welding tasks
Contract Details
* 22/h PAYE plus 2.66/h holiday pay or 29.46/h Umbrella company
* Initial contract until Mid Oct with good chance of extension
* Standard 39 hours with potential overtime (up to 46 hours)
