PBSS Finance Payroll Coordinator

Our Personal Budgets Support Service (PBSS) team is a small team that delivers payroll services to Direct Payment recipients, both Adults and Children, within West Northamptonshire. The role requires liaising with service users, other West Northamptonshire Council teams, HMRC, Pensions Regulator and providing reports to line management. You will be establishing and maintaining systems and procedures to deliver the service most effectively, and you will need to have an understanding of employment law and be able to apply it effectively.
Responsibilities
* Use Moneysoft payroll software to process timesheets, produce payslips, calculate PAYE, NI contributions, pension deductions and annual leave entitlements.
* Report RTI and year‑end figures.
* Give payroll advice and guidance to service users and other teams within WNC to ensure compliance.
Qualifications
* Experienced payroller in a small team environment.
* Able to work independently and use own initiative.
* Fast‑paced environment: able to deal with enquiries from a broad range of people including service users, peers and managers.
* Confident in knowledge and ability to discuss all aspects of payroll.
