2-3 months contract with a Local Authority Job Summary: • This role requires an experienced Community Support Worker to deliver high-quality, person-centred care and support to adults with learning disabilities. • The post involves lone working within the community, supporting multiple service users to promote independence, inclusion, and improved quality of life. • The successful candidate will be adaptable, empathetic, and confident working in a variety of home and community-based settings. Key Duties/Accountabilities (Sample): • Provide direct, practical, and emotional support to individuals with learning disabilities in the community. • Promote independence and choice by enabling service users to develop daily living skills and take part in activities. • Work autonomously in lone-working situations while ensuring consistent high-quality care. • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records and documentation in line with safeguarding, confidentiality, and GDPR requirements. • Communicate effectively with service users, families, carers, and other professionals. • Assist in the implementation and review of care/support plans. • Respond appropriately to emergencies and safeguarding concerns, following policy and procedure. • Support service users with personal care tasks where required. • Actively promote equality, diversity, and inclusion in service delivery. Skills/Experience: • Previous experience working with adults with learning disabilities is essential. • Proven ability to lone work confidently and responsibly in a community setting. • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills. • Ability to manage time effectively and prioritise workload. • Understanding of safeguarding procedures and confidentiality requirements. • Commitment to delivering person-centred care and promoting service user rights. • Ability to use basic IT systems for record-keeping and communication. • NVQ Level 2/3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent) is desirable. Additional Information: • This is a temporary, full-time role (32.5 hours per week). • Working hours are 09:00 to 15:30, Monday to Friday. • An enhanced DBS and references will be required prior to appointment.
