An exciting opportunity has arisen to be part of the Operating Theatre Team. York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust provides care to women living in and around York, North Yorkshire and the East Coast, with an increase demand on Caesarean Sections (elective and emergency).
We are looking for experienced Scrub Practitioner to join our Operating Theatre Team in York and Scarborough.
To be successful in your application, you will need to be able to demonstrate either 3 years’ experience in Theatres.
· Interviews for this position will be held in person only at the hospital site. Remote interviews will not be available.
· The validity of Nursing and Midwifery Council PIN will be checked before shortlisting (Only applicable to registered roles) - inaccuracies in NMC PIN details will mean your application will not be progressed

Main duties of the job
1. Demonstrate and develop clinical assessment skills and the ability to prioritise the care for patients undergoing a Surgical / Anaesthetic procedure.
2. Actively supports patients and their families, communicating clinical information using a variety of methods, to ensure effective understanding.
3. Contribute to the continuing development of patient care within the operating theatres, e.g. through sharing knowledge and expertise as required.
4. Prepare and organise clinical area to receive patients for elective and emergency.
5. To safely identify, prepare, check and assemble equipment required for the relevant operating list.
6. Responsible for adhering to the NMC / HCPC professional Code of Conduct.

15. Registered Nurse with current NMC registration (Level 1) or qualified Operating Department Practitioner with HPC registration or Anaesthetic Nurse (ENB 182/183 or equivalent)

17. 3 years’ experience in Maternity Theatres OR 3 years’ experience in Gynae/GI/Vascular or Urology Theatres
