Every 90 seconds, someone in the UK is admitted to hospital with a brain injury.
Headway Tyneside provides information, opportunities and skills, and a vibrant supportive community to enhance the lives of people affected by an ABI.
What difference will you make? You will be able to see your efforts rewarded in the retention of committed staff and volunteers and in their feedback. In addition, you will be able to see directly the amazing work they do making a difference to individuals' lives.
What are we looking for? You will likely be an HR professional by background, or have other relevant experience. You will be self motivated, but keen to be part of a supportive team of Trustees who are invested in the work of Headway Tyneside. You do not have to have a direct link to the ABI community, but you should be interested to learn about their stories and the needs, challenges and rewards they present to our staff/volunteers.
What will you be doing? Headway Tyneside is run by a voluntary Board, whose members bring a wide range of skills and experience. We are looking for an enthusiastic new member of the Board who will have particular interest in supporting our staff and volunteers as a HR Trustee. We want everyone who works with us to have a great experience - through recruitment, induction, training, their day to day work and development. We are a small charity (2 staff; 6 volunteers) but aim to deliver high standards of professional and employee/volunteer support. The role will include legal compliance, and policy development and oversight. It will also involve ensuring there are robust HR processes and practices in place to create the employee/volunteer experience we aspire to.
