Aston Martin is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Senior Engineer, Aftersales Problem Solving to play a key role in identifying and resolving technical issues that affect our global dealer network. Sitting within the Aftersales Technical Services team, this role is central to maintaining the brand's commitment to engineering excellence and customer satisfaction by reducing vehicle downtime, improving field issue resolution, and supporting continuous product improvement. You will be responsible for coordinating and analysing incoming field data - including Product Defect Reports (PDRs), Pre‑Delivery Inspection (PDI) findings, and warranty information - to identify, define, prioritise, and escalate key technical concerns. Working cross‑functionally with departments such as Quality, Production, Manufacturing Engineering, and R&D, you will support and track issue resolution, provide structured feedback, and prepare reports that influence decision‑making at the highest levels of the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will process and assess incoming field information from the global dealer network, classifying failures, identifying repeat concerns, and escalating trends based on impact and frequency. You will prepare detailed reports and problem definition sheets to support the effective handover of issues to the appropriate teams for resolution, ensuring that all relevant technical data is accurately captured. You will liaise with regional offices and dealers to obtain additional information or request return of failed parts for analysis and provide progress updates to stakeholders. Through robust tracking and reporting, you will ensure that technical problems are addressed efficiently, supporting both short‑term containment and permanent corrective actions. You will also contribute to chronic and complex issue resolution using structured problem‑solving techniques and facilitate data analysis to enable accurate root‑cause determination. Your insights and reports will directly support business reviews and escalation processes, including presentations to senior management and committees up to CEO level. By coordinating these activities, you will help reduce warranty costs, improve product reliability, and enhance the overall ownership experience for Aston Martin customers worldwide.
