Delivery Consultant at Synchro | Telecoms & Non-Tech
Synchro are proud to be partnering with a well-known organisation who are actively seeking to hire a Tier 2 NOC Engineer.
This role will be based out of either our Exeter or Ledbury office, with a hybrid working arrangement of 60% office and 40% home working.
Responsible for providing exceptional customer service and technical support, the Tier 2 NOC Engineer will respond to customer inquiries, resolve technical issues, and ensure the smooth operation of our fibre network services. This includes supporting Layer 2 and Layer 3 services on GPON and XGS PON access networks, Juniper core network, BNG, and firewall infrastructure. Key responsibilities encompass customer support, technical troubleshooting, incident management, and network configuration.
Skills & Experience Required
* Experience: 3+ years in an engineering and/or network support role with supplier interaction/management.
* Education: Higher education graduate in IT, networking, computing, electrical/electronic engineering.
* Customer Service: Previous experience in customer service or technical support, preferably in telecommunications.
* Technical Aptitude: Strong ability to troubleshoot network connectivity, hardware, and software issues.
* Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a customer-centric approach.
* Tools Familiarity: Experience with ticketing systems, CRM tools, and remote support tools.
* Independence: Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
* Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and adaptability to changing technologies and processes.
* Network Knowledge: Knowledge of Nokia FX series OLTs and ADVA FSP XG-400 series advantageous.
* Certifications: Cisco CCNP/Juniper JNCIP or equivalent recognized accreditations advantageous.
* Communication: Ability to talk at all levels in the business.
* Pressure Management: Experience working under pressure in a fast-paced role.
* Technical Knowledge: Practical and deep knowledge of network technologies, security, and architectures within a large ISP or Carrier environment.
