Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00 – 17:00
Salary: £35k - £40k DOE
We are currently seeking an organised, reliable, and hands-on Stores Operative to join our clients team on a permanent basis. This is a varied role where you’ll take ownership of stores operations while also supporting vehicle maintenance and facilities upkeep.
You’ll play a key role in ensuring goods are received, stored, and distributed efficiently, stock is accurately controlled, and our equipment, vehicles, and facilities are well maintained and ready for use.
Key Responsibilities
Stores Management
* Receive, check, and log incoming deliveries
* Pick, pack, and dispatch goods accurately and efficiently
* Maintain accurate stock records and carry out regular stock counts
* Investigate and report stock discrepancies
* Keep storage areas clean, safe, and well organised
Vehicle Maintenance
* Coordinate vehicle servicing, repairs, and inspections in line with maintenance schedules
* Carry out basic vehicle checks (fluids, tyres, etc.)
* Liaise with drivers and suppliers to ensure timely maintenance and repairs
* Support the allocation, cleanliness, and readiness of company vehicles
Facilities Support
* Assist in maintaining the overall condition and safety of company premises
* Support annual inspections of tools and equipment, including PAT testing (full training provided)
* Coordinate building maintenance and minor repairs
* Assist with general site upkeep and occasional project support
* Support compliance with health, safety, and fire policies, including:
* Conducting fire alarm tests
* Assisting with fire drills and emergency procedures
Ideal Candidate:
* Previous experience working in a stores or warehouse environment
* Full UK driving licence
* Forklift licence
* Computer literate with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
* A proactive, organised individual with a positive, can-do attitude
