IT Support Technician – Truro

£26,000–£30,000

If you’re an IT Support Technician who prefers a well-structured, steady environment rather than a hectic, constantly-on-fire workplace, this will likely suit you.

This organisation is established, organised, and takes its IT function seriously. They’re friendly, professional, and value people who deliver reliable, thoughtful support. If you appreciate a workplace where colleagues respect processes and communication is straightforward, you’ll feel at home here.

The Role

You’ll be the first line of support for colleagues across the business, providing assistance in person, over the phone, via email, and through Microsoft Teams. Your work will help keep the organisation’s infrastructure running smoothly, and your ability to prioritise tickets sensibly will be important.

Your responsibilities will include:

* Providing day-to-day IT support across the organisation

* Monitoring and prioritising tickets on the service desk

* Building and maintaining PC and server hardware

* Supporting Microsoft operating systems and Office applications

* Troubleshooting Windows environments (and some Linux exposure is a bonus)

* Managing user account creation and deletion

* Assisting with IT training for new starters

* Maintaining networks, software, hardware and ensuring compliance with standards

* Working with external suppliers where required

* Contributing to ongoing IT projects and recommending service improvements

What You’ll Need

* Previous experience in an IT Support role

* Strong troubleshooting skills and an organised approach to problem-solving

* Understanding of networking, email systems and communication technologies

* Good written and verbal communication skills — especially when explaining technical issues to non-technical colleagues

* Experience with telephony and printers

* Analytical thinking and the ability to investigate issues thoroughly

* CompTIA A+ (or similar) is helpful, and support is available if you’d like to work towards a qualification

What They Offer

This is a company with a clear structure, supportive culture and a commitment to employee development. Benefits include:

* A 35-hour working week

* Private medical insurance and income protection

* 24 days’ holiday, rising with length of service, plus bank holidays

* Option to purchase additional holiday

* Comprehensive induction and ongoing learning and development, including funded professional memberships

* Staff events to support wellbeing

* A package of employee discounts

Who This Will Suit

Someone who enjoys working in the office, values consistency, and takes pride in delivering dependable, well-communicated IT support.
If you want a role where expectations are clear, colleagues are respectful, and your work genuinely supports the organisation, this is a strong match.

If you’d like to discuss the role further, feel free to get in touch
