We’re supporting a brilliant SEMH school in Slough that is looking for a SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team. The role is based around supporting pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, helping them re-engage with learning and build positive relationships. This is a setting where consistency, trust and boundaries are key — the staff team are incredibly supportive and work together to create a safe, structured environment for all learners. Responsibilities Supporting pupils with SEMH needs in and out of the classroom Building positive, trusting relationships with students Supporting behaviour using de-escalation strategies Helping pupils regulate emotions and access learning Working closely with teachers and pastoral staff Requirements Experience working with young people with SEMH or challenging behaviour Confident, calm and resilient personality Ability to build strong relationships quickly Team-focused with a consistent approach to behaviour support DBS on the update service (or willing to apply) At Supply Hive, safeguarding is a top priority.
