Winchester Department of Social Services is seeking a Benefits Training Program Manager to lead Benefit Programs training development and delivery, quality control efforts, data and reporting, community outreach initiatives and to provide special projects leadership across the agency. This is a fast-paced role suited for a trainer, communicator, and problem-solver who wants to grow their impact in an innovative and forward-thinking setting.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Coordinates onboarding of new Benefit Programs Specialists and provides comprehensive training in SNAP and Medicaid policy and practice;
2. Develops and manages refresher SNAP and Medicaid materials and trainings for tenured employees;
3. Trains and mentors employees in eligibility case reading standards and practices;
4. Ensures training compliance by managing team training records and reports;
5. Provides case consultation on state and federal regulations and eligibility systems to Benefit Programs Specialists;
6. Coordinates compilation of data, reporting, and corrective actions;
7. Coordinates agency initiatives, community outreach, and special projects;
8. Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
9. Bachelor’s degree in the human services field and human services program experience in a lead or supervisory capacity or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities;
10. Valid driver's license
11. Knowledge of Virginia's Social Services system with significant hands-on experience in Benefit Programs preferred
