Challenge
We are looking for an enthusiastic and driven data analyst to support our busy Impact and Evaluation team. The role offers the opportunity to work across a varied technical stack, including Python for metrics calculation and Power BI for reporting, and the scope to work with econometrics and a lakehouse platform in an environment that values innovation, collaboration, and personal growth.
Key Responsibilities
* Calculate and report on SMART KPIs to inform progress and performance reporting to funders, senior management, and the board.
* Contribute to project and programme impact analysis and evaluation studies across a range of programme areas.
* Improve the automation of KPI calculation, refresh cycles and reporting pipelines.
* Create and manage data systems for reporting needs.
* Coordinate with data owners across the organisation and support broader administrative workflows.
Skills & Experience
Required
* Comfortable conducting high‑quality, reliable data analysis and delivering insights to inform progress reporting to funders, senior management and the board.
* Able to respond to evolving ad‑hoc requests from senior executives and other stakeholders, and reprioritise work as demands shift.
* Knowledge of Python scripts used to calculate metrics, with familiarity with common data structures (DataFrames, dictionaries, lists, JSON) and the analytical pipeline.
* Working knowledge of Power BI for dashboarding and reporting, and a good understanding of Power Apps and Power Automate for workflow automation.
* Automation mindset: able to identify repetitive reporting tasks and work with relevant teams to automate them, ensuring KPIs are refreshed reliably with minimal manual intervention.
* Team‑player ability to build good working relationships with stakeholders across the organisation and ensure data needed for monitoring and evaluation is accessible and meets reporting criteria.
* Ensure agreed reporting and monitoring processes are implemented to track progress toward delivering intended impacts, including data governance and management.
Desirable
* Economic and econometric knowledge, particularly difference‑in‑differences and propensity score matching, to contribute to evaluation studies.
* Experience with Databricks or another lakehouse platform (e.g. Microsoft Fabric, Snowflake), including writing SQL queries for data extraction and transformation.
