Room Leader – Full-Time (40 hours)
Location: Ashbourne Day Nurseries at Milton Keynes Central
Contract Type: Permanent
We're looking for an experienced and confident Room Leader to join our team at Ashbourne Day Nurseries at Milton Keynes Central. This is a full-time role where you'll lead your room day-to-day, support your team, and help create a warm, engaging environment for the children in your care.
You'll already be working in early years, with strong knowledge of the EYFS, and you'll be passionate about giving every child the best start. This role would suit someone who enjoys leading by example and wants to take the next step in their childcare career.
What you'll be doing
* Leading your room team and working closely with management
* Making sure the EYFS and safeguarding requirements are fully met
* Supporting and developing your team through regular one-to-ones and observations
* Building strong relationships with parents and carers
* Supporting occupancy and the nursery's reputation through high-quality practice
* Taking pride in maintaining a clean, safe, well-equipped room
What we're looking for
* A Level 3 childcare qualification (or above)
* Experience working in a nursery and leading a team
* Confidence in following the EYFS framework and Ofsted standards
* Great communication skills and a calm, supportive leadership style
* Someone who's professional, organised and genuinely passionate about early years
It's a bonus if you also have:
* A higher-level qualification in childcare
* Experience running room meetings or carrying out staff supervisions
* Good IT skills and confidence using nursery systems
You'll need to be able to provide two satisfactory references (one must be your most recent employer), and be eligible for an enhanced DBS check. There may also be occasional travel to other Ashbourne nurseries if needed.
