We’re looking for a Lead Service Designer to guide the design of complex, user-centred services for a major government department. You’ll set the vision, foster collaboration across multidisciplinary teams, and make a real difference to how citizens interact with essential services.

Responsibilities
* Lead complex service design projects from concept to delivery
* Champion user-centred design and GOV.UK service standards
* Coach and mentor teams in iterative, hypothesis-driven design practices
* Plan and run inclusive, accessible, and sustainable design sessions
* Build strong relationships with senior stakeholders and multidisciplinary teams
* Align user needs with organisational goals in a complex, evolving landscape
Requirements
* Proven track record leading service design in government/public services
* Strong understanding of GOV.UK service standard
* Expertise in inclusive and accessible design
* Experience mentoring and coaching design teams
* Strategic thinking and ability to communicate design vision to senior leaders
* Degree or equivalent experience in Service Design, UX, Interaction Design, or similar
Additional requirements include experience in consultancy and opening new account spaces, multi-disciplinary design skill set, user research leadership experience, and SC clearance (or eligibility).
