Reference: c56260d7 We are looking for a female personal assistant (PA) to support a happy and relaxed, good-humoured, transgender woman for two hours per week, plus bank hours to cover illness and annual leave of other workers. The aim is for this delightful lady to remain independent in her own home as she is living with a diagnosis of Motor Neurone Disease (MND). If you have any work/life experience of this condition, that would be an advantage. She has enjoyed playing different instruments throughout her life and has an interest in a wide variety of music and appreciation of nature and the beach. It would be ideal, though not essential, to find someone like-minded in this respect, to establish common ground. Initially you will be required to support with practical tasks within the home and attending medical appointments, so you must be a car driver, with use of your own vehicle. As a positive, understanding relationship is fostered, there will be more personal tasks involved e.g. bathing and dressing. Meal preparation, medication administration and possible healthcare tasks will potentially become part of this much valued role, the hours for which will increase with time. The successful applicant will be sensitive, tolerant, open-minded, supportive and reliable.
