A Certified Nursing Assistant's Job Responsibilities:
* Assist with activities of daily living, including serving meals, feeding patients, ambulating, turning, and positioning patients; providing water and nourishment between meals.
* Administer adjunct care such as enemas, douches, dressings, surgical preparations, ice packs, heat treatments, sitz and therapeutic baths, and applying restraints.
* Monitor patient stability by checking vital signs, weight, testing urine, and recording intake and output.
* Ensure patient comfort by utilizing resources, transporting patients, responding to call lights and requests, and reporting observations to nursing staff.
* Complete documentation including forms, reports, logs, and records.
* Follow policies and procedures to maintain work operations.
* Maintain patient confidentiality to protect the organization's value.
* Participate in educational opportunities, stay updated with professional publications, engage in professional organizations, and maintain licensure to enhance knowledge.
* Contribute to the nursing department and hospital reputation by taking ownership of tasks and exploring opportunities to add value.
