Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated MOT Tester/mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for conducting thorough inspections and tests on vehicles to ensure they meet safety and environmental standards. This role requires a strong mechanical knowledge and the ability to use various tools effectively. The MOT Tester will play a crucial part in maintaining the safety and reliability of vehicles on the road.
Duties
* Conduct MOT tests in accordance with industry regulations and standards.
* Inspect vehicles for compliance with safety and environmental requirements.
* Service and mot repairs.
* Document test results accurately and provide detailed reports on findings.
* Communicate effectively with customers regarding test outcomes and any required repairs.
* Maintain a clean and organised work environment, ensuring all equipment is in good working order.
* Assist in training junior staff members when necessary.
Qualifications
* Proven mechanical knowledge with experience in vehicle maintenance or repair.
* Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
* Ability to perform heavy lifting as required during vehicle inspections.
* Relevant qualifications or certifications in MOT testing are preferred but not essential.
* Strong attention to detail with excellent problem-solving skills.
* Good communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with customers and team members.
* A valid driving licence is required.
